1. Set Project Aspect Ratio

Based on your needs, you may have the necessity to set your project Output Blanking. This setting will crop your footage and apply black bars so you get the right aspect ratio within our default image which is 16:9 in HD or UHD

To do that, you need to click on the Project Settings button, choose Display & Color section, and on Image Aspect Ratio/Blanking set the Aspect Ratio that best fits your footage. You can select the one you need from the list or set your own in the custom option.

Examples of Aspect Ratio and their use:

1.78 for 16:9
1.85 for Cinema Flat
2.39 for CinemaScope
2.0 Univisium (18:9) created by Vittorio Storaro
