This article explains where to find your license, how to activate it, and how to resolve the most common license-related issues for all Colourlab AI products.
1. Where Is My License?
Your license is always stored in your Colourlab AI account.
Step-by-step:
- Go to https://colourlab.ai
- Navigate to: My Account → License Management (URL: /my-account → License Management)
- Find the product you are looking for and click on it.
- Under Serial, you will see your license number.
- Click Copy to copy the license to your clipboard.
2. How to Enter Your License Correctly
Open the plugin or desktop application you want to activate. Paste the license into the top field labeled “Serial”.
Important notes:
Always paste into the TOP field, not the bottom one. On macOS: Use right-click → Paste or Control-click → Paste CMD+C / CMD+V may be disabled for security reasons On Windows: CTRL+C / CTRL+V works normally
3. “My License Is Invalid” — How to Fix It
This is the most common issue. Please check the following carefully:
Checklist:
✅ The license is pasted into the TOP serial field
✅ The license matches the correct product
✅ There are no spaces before or after the license
✅ You used Copy / Paste (not manual typing)
FilmLab-specific note:
If you are installing FilmLab AI, you must install:
Look Designer FL GrainLab FL
Only FL-specific licenses work with FilmLab plugins.
4. How to Deactivate a License (Move It to Another Computer)
You can deactivate a license at any time.
Option A — From the Website:
Go to My Account → License Management Click your product Scroll down and click Deactivate
This immediately frees the license for use on another computer.
Option B — From the Application:
Click Deactivate directly inside the plugin or desktop app
5. “My License Has Expired”
If your license is expired:
Go to License Management Click your product Check the validity date at the top
Click Resubscribe Follow the on-screen instructions
Your updated license will be available immediately after renewal.
6. Payment Issues
If your license shows a payment problem:
Go to License Management Click your product Select Change Payment Method Update your payment details and confirm
Once payment is resolved, the license becomes active again.
7. How to Cancel a License
To cancel a subscription:
Go to License Management Click your product Click Cancel Subscription
Your license will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
8. Offline Activation (No Internet on the Target Machine)
Offline activation is fully supported.
Step-by-step:
On the target machine: Enter your serial number into the product Click Offline Activation
Download the generated request file
On a computer with internet: Log into My Account
Go to Offline Activation
Upload the request file
Download the activation file
Return to the target machine: Load the activation file into the plugin/app
✅ Your product is now activated offline.
